Facebook-owned social media platform, Instagram, has just announced a European roll-out of a brand new suite of free tools for businesses. This includes the arrival of ‘Business Profiles’, which allows companies to include a ‘Contact’ button within their profile. The addition should not only quickly signal to users that the profile belongs to a business, but the button should also help drive more enquiries for the 200,000 advertisers on Instagram.
As part of the toolkit, Instagram has also included an ‘Insights’ tool, which is designed to give businesses access to analytics that they can easily take action from, rather than becoming overwhelmed by data. Think who followers you and which posts get the best results, rather than anything too complex.
Their third offering; ‘Promote’, provides an easy way to promote a well-performing post, as an advert, thanks to Facebook’s targeting and measurement tools.
The launch of these new tools suggests that Instagram is getting serious about helping businesses drive enquiries and sales from the platform. This will be welcome news for brands, almost a year after Instagram first opened up their advertising offering.
