addmustard is a full-service digital agency joining up brand, technology and marketing for our clients. We work with entrepreneurial businesses to drive awareness and growth, efficiently.  For the most part, we don’t just work with our clients on one-off projects, campaigns or channels, but we bury ourselves into their businesses and work alongside them to solve fundamental commercial and digital challenges.

Our amazingly talented team is made up of those people who do more, think more, and act more (and quite often, celebrate more…) and we are fascinated by the kind of people who get a kick out of delivering something great.

Essentially, we want to attract great people and keep them, attract great clients and keep them, and have a lot of fun along the way.

Simple, right? That’s where you come in.

About the team

The addmustard team is built from individuals who love a challenge, aren’t afraid to get their hands (and feet) dirty, and are genuine people wanting to learn, succeed and be part of something amazing. We nurture our talent, invest in their future, and support and care for every single person both professionally, and more important, personally – which is what creates a successful working environment for both our team and our clients.

We are an open, supportive group who want to achieve great things together. We’re there for each other, whether it’s been a challenging day in the office or we’re celebrating one of life’s wonderful milestones together. A bold claim, but our Glassdoor reviews back it up. We’re a small team, with strong bonds.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of SEO, and working alongside a team of digital specialists, we’re looking for an SEO Manager to shape, manage, and deliver world-class organic strategies across a wide range of diverse and varied campaigns and projects for our clients. You’ll be a hands-on campaign and project leader, as willing to get stuck in delivering on the day to day as you are discussing activities, performance and strategy with our clients.

You’ll work amongst our Organic and Content team to develop, manage and ensure successful implementation of organic strategies and campaigns from concept to completion. You will be responsible for communicating weekly and monthly organic activity and performance to clients, as well as ensuring the timely delivery of activities and managing SEO account priorities. The team is currently a perfect mix of technical SEO analysts and dynamic content producers.

This is a great opportunity to join a unique and ambitious agency and to work within a close-knit multi-disciplinary team, where we’ll have you integrated on campaigns that span all digital marketing channels and specialisms, including Brand, Performance, SEO, Content, PPC, Display, and CRO.

The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years experience across technical and content strategy and management of organic activities. They will be able to juggle multiple accounts and work streams, ensuring deadlines are hit and activities are delivered to a high standard. You should demonstrate your proactive nature and take the initiative to identify areas for improvement to the clients and within team projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with the Head of SEO, establish clear and agreed SEO targets, objectives, roadmaps, and milestones for your allocated clients, with technical SEO, content and general optimisation working in partnership and not in silo.
  • Manage and implement the day-to-day SEO activities across your accounts, ensuring all agreed activities are actioned, monitored and communicated to clients.
  • Conduct thorough and strategic keyword research that will help inform your client’s organic targeting strategy and feed into opportunity analysis and forecasting.
  • Deliver technical SEO audits for new and existing clients, prioritising issues and working with in-house and external development teams to implement recommendations.
  • Build trusting relationships with clients, articulating the purpose and performance of overall organic activities, and acting as the primary point of contact for agreed clients.
  • Attend client weekly calls, strategy meetings and provide outstanding levels of client service in a proactive manner.
  • Monitor and communicate performance across your accounts, producing daily/weekly/monthly reports which provide useful and relevant insights, as well as changes in the market and the SEO landscape (e.g. Google updates, search trends, SEO techniques).
  • Integrate with channel teams outside of Organic (Paid Search, CRO etc) to provide clients with a holistic strategy and complement other channel activity.
  • Support and input into new client briefs and pitches, producing material for pitches to addmustard standard and level of detail.

Essential skills

  • Demonstrated experience across SEO practices: technical, on- and off-page, content strategy, and user experience
  • Strong understanding and experience in site analytics, tracking and reporting
  • Understanding of the synergy between SEO, paid media, display and social activity
  • Excellent campaign management and organisational skills
  • Confident in client relationship management
  • Effective and efficient working style

Who we’re looking for

A tight-knit collaboration of minds and people is an essential part of our success. We want people who don’t just sit in their lane but think of the bigger picture and help others to meet their overall goal.

We love people who get right to the nub of a problem and ask the questions that others are avoiding, as well as offering the solutions that have yet to be thought of. We’ve built (and are very proud of) our completely flat and integrated organisational structure – we don’t care where the good ideas come from, as long as they can be turned into something amazing and tangible. No idea is a bad idea.

So, if any of the following sound like you, it’s probably time we organised a drink and a chat.

  • You genuinely care about delivering results.
  • You’re hands on and not afraid to get stuck in.
  • You’re a passionate problem solver and dynamic.
  • You’re looking for a working environment where the whole team loves coming to work, supports each other and feels relaxed.
  • The idea of socialising with colleagues doesn’t fill you with dread.

Benefits

In return for your experience, creativity and incredible mind, we’ll make sure you work with and are trained by industry experts at the forefront of digital marketing. Our senior management is open, honest and transparent which means we regularly share financial, team, and client performance with the whole agency. You can choose the hours you work and where you work from, as long as it fits with our team and clients’ requirements, and you’ll enjoy a £1,000 annual training budget, free gym membership, ride-to-work scheme and many, many social events.

We also offer unlimited holiday. Yes, it really is unlimited. And no, that wasn’t a typo.

Our full benefits include:

  • Unlimited holiday.
  • Flexi time: flexible working hours and work from home, unless you are required for an important meeting at addmustard’s central Brighton office.
  • Inclusion into our 10% annual bonus scheme (after one year with the company).
  • £1,000 annual personal training budget.
  • Pension scheme, gym membership and ride to work scheme.
  • Be part of an amazing, sociable and supportive team with far too frequent nights out/socials/Friday pizza and beers, and of course, our annual Christmas parties abroad!
