The Role

Reporting into the Deputy Managing Director, and working alongside the Technical Director, we’re looking for Head of Organic to develop, own, steer and deliver world-class SEO strategies across a wide range of diverse and varied campaigns and projects for our clients.

You’ll need to successfully develop, manage and ensure successful implementation of SEO campaigns from concept to completion. As part of your role, you will be responsible for the performance of client SEO providing leadership, insight and strategic direction for our clients’ investment in their technology and content. You will also be responsible for the management of three SEO Analysts and our dynamic content and outreach team, and you will need to manage all aspects of their development, duties, workloads and activity prioritisation.

Who we’re looking for

   Someone who has at least 3 years’ experience in delivering SEO campaigns.

   Excellent knowledge of SEO practices; technical, content & offsite.

   An up to date understanding of what it takes to drive organic success.

   Proven SEO portfolio.

   Proactive, creative and numerate.

   Strong understanding of cross channel marketing and the digital landscape.

   Excellent communicator; liaising with and coordinating between Client, Creative, SEO, Content and Paid Media Teams.

   Experience of monitoring budgets.

   Ability to convince clients of the return on investment in SEO.

Key skills


With support from the Technical Director, you will be responsible for devising, presenting and delivering the organic strategy across our entire client portfolio. You will need to evaluate historic and current performance, frame and communicate the organic opportunities, and provide both your team and your clients with the leadership and direction required to deliver performance. It will also be your duty to keep on top of the results that our campaigns are delivering, and be proactive in communication and agile in our campaigns when changes to the strategy are required.


Client management

With support from our Client Services department, you will be expected to manage relationships with clients and third parties, as well as effectively communicate to your colleagues to ensure relationships are maintained, deadlines are met, and challenging situations are defused. You should be comfortable building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders within our clients’ teams, and confident discussing performance and strategy with employees at all levels of their business.


Team management
The Head of Organic will be instrumental in the creation and management of strategic campaign and project plans for the SEO and Content specialists to deliver. You will need to guide the wider team and manage the organisation’s output effectively, intervening if things are going off-track, and taking ownership of the weekly SEO prioritisation meetings and performance updates to the Management and Client Service teams. You will also play a fundamental part in developing and nurturing a vibrant organic team, mentoring them and helping them to progress both personally and professionally.


   A working understanding of development languages, PPC and brand, or a strong desire to learn.

   Previous client side and agency experience is preferable.

   A creative flair, and the ability to work alongside and brief our creative team.
